Thumbnail or Pop-ups for images from Photobucket or Flickr

  Hi,

  I have just started a fledgling blog and have managed a few posts but I am troubled with linking images from photobucket & flickr

  Most of my images are hosted on photobucket but I am making a switch to flickr now. I would like to know how I can insert a thumbnail of my image from these sites in my post so that it opens in another window when clicked?

  Is that even possible?

  I have tried following this guide to linking to images on the internet and they appear but I cannot get them to open in another windown when clicked.

  If you want the image to be hosted there but without being clickable at all, the code is

  <img src=”http://a.wordpress.com/avatar/bikingnomad-128.jpg” alt=”BikingNomad” />

  The link I used was the link of your avatar.

  There’s probably a simpler way to do this, but I simply post it like usual in my blog using the Tree icon (I think it’s #12, the image icon) and change the size there. Then after it looks right, I click on it to select, then I hit the Link icon and put in the URL of the image at Photobucket or Flickr. I set it to open in a new window. That means it’s basically a pop-up, full-size image. Is that what you want?

  To get them to open in another window, you want to add “target=”_blank” to your code, or on the popup link settings box (when you use the icon) you just select “open in new window”.

  @raincoaster ; tks! I figured out what you were referring to. I was missing on performing the linking step after inserting the image in the post. It works like a charm now.

  @mymyspacelayouts: tks! It works with the html code you provided as well. Though, I’m new to html its good to get to practice.
