Thumbnail that appears with the blog address
-
Why did the thumbnail that appears when I type my blog address (https://oleschoeurs.wordpress.com) changed? (This is the poster of my last exhibition) without I modified anything. I have since modified the picture in the settings (my picture in place of the QR code that was there before) and I always see the picture of my last exhibition. How to remove it? thank you in advance
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
Which thumbnail are you referring to? What is the address (URL) of the post or page which it appears?
-
Hi,
https://oleschoeurs.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=7727&action=edit
This is the address of the article where the image of the poster appears as a picture of the blog instead of my photo. In the settings of the blog, it is nevertheless my photo is recorded
Sorry, I don’t speak english very well. It’s a translation of google -
The URL you’ve provided is that of a the editor a post, which volunteers such as myself don’t have access to. If you could provide the address of the published post, I might be able to help you.
Alternatively, you may call for staff attention by adding a “modlook” tag to the sidebar of this topic. Staff can view administrative areas of your site.

Hi,
In fact, I would like to be able to contact a wordpress engineer, as I did before but I do not know how to do it anymore. Can you give me an email for explain my problem ? Thank you -
I’ve added a tag to the topic to call for staff attention. Please wait for staff to respond.

Hi @oleschoeurs, can you send a link to the image you normally expect to see with your facebook posts?
By the way, this is the URL for your post:
Expo « Pastel – Sculpture » aux Izards : cheminement entre 2 approches

Hi Supernovia, Thanks but I can give you the url of the picture. When I am in the settings, I see the photo (it is a higgledy-piggledy of pastels)
Why does it appear in the settings as a photo of the site and not when I post the address of the site (still this photo of my exhibition’poster) ? -
For Supernovia, url of the settings with the photo

Hi @oleschoeurs, do you mean this one?
https://secure.gravatar.com/blavatar/b4610b350462b3f8d4957fd0051d027eAlso, do you mean the wrong image appears on Facebook? Facebook usually tries to find a larger image if it can.
You can have some control over what image shows on Facebook with individual blog posts, though. You would set a featured image for each post. Then when you share that link on Facebook, that featured image would appear.

Hi Supernovia
This is the image I defined in my settings so that it appears every time I type the address of my blog (https://oleschoeurs.wordpress.com). Until now, there was no problem. But for a few days, instead of the photo of my pastels, it is the image of my poster that appears while I have not changed any settings. This has nothing to do with the various articles I publish and share on facebook. It would be nice if I could send you the photos before and after.
It’s difficult to explain in English, I don’t speak very well and Google don’t translate correctly, sorry ! -
@oleschoeurs thanks, I was able to see the issue this time and resolve it; it should work well on Facebook now. Let us know if you need more help.
-
Thank you so much Supernovia ! It’s OK !
Can you tell me why it did not work before ? I like to understand…Thanks ! -
@oleschoeurs I couldn’t tell for sure what caused it, but I could see through Facebook’s debug tool that it thought your blog avatar was very large — over 8mb — and thus too big to use as a thumbnail image on their site. But it is not that big. I used the “scrape again” feature at Facebook which kind of resets their information for your page, and that fixed it.
I think it was just a glitch.
