Thumbnail to large image
-
I would like to use a thumbnail on my post, and have it clickable to show a full size image
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

My experience is that you can add a photo to the blog at any size, e.g. default thumbnail is 114 x 150 (but you can do a custom size smaller or larger), then when someone clicks on the image, it will expand to full size (up to 990 px wide) in a different window (hit X in top left corner to return to the original page).
You can also set up a Gallery of thumbnails. <Add Media> button takes you to <Insert Media> page, with all your photos:
1. select a number of photos simultaneously (<command> key on Macintosh)
2. hit <Create Gallery> (in left column)
3. <Create a new gallery> (blue button, bottom right)
Under “GALLERY SETTINGS” (right column):
4. <Columns> 5 (for 5 in a row) (the larger this number, the smaller the thumbnail)
5. <size> Thumbnail
6. <Type> Thumbnail Grid
7. <Insert gallery> (blue button, bottom right)See example of 5-column thumbnail gallery at https://dncb.wordpress.com/dns-meeting-posters-archive#posters

wow it works!
I was adding my pictures as a “Featured Image” rather than as media
I guess I need more information on the difference between them
