Thumbnails and featured images for links on social media

I wanted to post a link to my latest blog posting on Facebook. The blog item included three graphics, but when I posted the link on Facebook it wouldn’t give me the option of choosing the image I desired. So I took out the two other images, but when I tried to post the link (several times) it only displayed the two images I didn’t want to use for the thmbnail – even though I’d just deleted them from the page!
    Why does this happen?
A friend said there should be an option (under the sections on tags) where I can choose my featured image for social media, thumbnails but there was no such option offered in that location.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It happens because you have to clear your Facebook cache if you want FB to take another “snapshot” of your site. Generally speaking, FB is always changing the way it displays images and sometimes picks the Featured image, sometimes none, sometimes the Blavatar. You can’t control it.

Thanks for your reply. I did clear the cache on my computer, thinking it might be a cookie problem, but that didn’t help. How do I clear the Facebook cache?

Your friend is wrong about what Featured Images are for. They don’t work that way.
