Thumbnails inside the blog post page…
-
Most of the images I post will be too big anyway and some have text that kill the ability to resize them. is there any HTML code that makes my external images into clickable thumbnails so that viewers dont have to see a cut off or an over extended page?

If you have a blog at WordPress.com, this is an automatic option when you go to insert images into a post. Please give us the direct link to your blog, starting with http.

I host them on photobucket I dont know if that is an issue, but as you can see the page is best suited to have the images thumbnailed,

That IS the issue. When you upload an image through WordPress.com, you are given the option to make it a thumbnail and also to tweak the size.
There’s no code I know of which will resize externally-hosted without major compression issues and loss of clarity. If that is okay with you, then it’s easy: just post the image as usual, shrink it to whatever size you want via the Image icon (the tree), then click on the Link icon and put the URL of the image in there. Format it to open in a new window or the same, as you prefer.

Post back if you need clarification of anything.
The other option is to use Flickr to resize it and grab the code for a thumbnail there. I think they have that functionality. Then link the thumbnail to the full-sized image.

You can use photobucket very successfully for thumbnails. Select the images you want to use (checkbox under the image), then scroll down to where it says ‘Generate html code’. The first option will be ‘html clickable thumbnails’. Copy this code and paste it into your WP post, making sure that you’re in the html editor. Should work a treat.
