Thumbnails with excerpts

How do I get my front page to show thumbnails of the featured image for my about me page and recent blog entries with excerpts underneath? Right now, my page shows entire blog posts. Help??

Not all themes use Featured Images the same way, or support Excerpts, so these features would depend on the theme you are using.

https://en.support.wordpress.com/excerpts/Note that as an alternative to excerpts, you can also use the ‘more tag’ to truncate your post so that the whole article is not displayed. But I prefer excerpts myself :)

You may want to search for a different theme that supports both Featured Images as thumbnails in the posts list page, as well as Excerpts.
Maybe have a look at the Gateway Theme as an example
