TIF files
-
I have a picture I want to put on a blog, and, it is a TIF file. It won’t let me put it on. I browse to the location where I have it, and, it doesn’t show it there. So, I figure the wordpress site doesn’t recognize a tif file. ??? Is there any way I can change it to a jpg or png file? Then, I won’t have any trouble posting it.
Thanks for any help. :)

Tiff files are uncompressed and cannot be uploaded. You will have to edit the image and save it as either a jpg, gif, or png. JPG’s are best for photographic images while GIF and PNG are better for graphic style images.

Open the image in an image editing program, do a “save as” and select jpg, gif or png, as the “file type.”

OK, I will try that. I’m not too computer savvy, but, I think I might know how to do this. If it works, I’ll come back and label this as solved.
Thank you soooooooooooo much for your quick reply and your help. :)
Have a great evening. BRB

OK, it worked. Thanks so much. But . . . . . .
I saved it as a png file, but it has a white background all around it. With a png file, I thought they were supposed to be transparent. ???? I did it in PSP. Any ideas here on this one?

Never mind. I figured it out. I am just now taking a PSP 101 course, and, I think it’s paying off already. I know pretty much nothing about it, and am just on my first lesson.
Thanks again for your fast reply and great help.
