Time limit for subscribers………

I have been working on a Private blog and have reached the point where I would like to offer it to a select group of readers. However, I only want it to be available for a specific time period. (ie. 60 – 90 days) at which point it is no longer available. Is there a mechanism by which I can do that as the Admin.? If not, can you recommend something? I love WordPress but I would be willing to go to another host to accomplish this. Would wordpress.org have this feature? I am NOT very computer savvy beyond what I’ve learned thus far here. Thanks.

I don’t know of a blogging provider which has this feature. Then again, I never pursued such a thing. But you could always remove the subscribers on any date you choose….

    I agree with diamond.
But just because you close it doesn’t mean the info has gone – it could have been copied.

Hmmm. So, even though they set up their own accounts in order to read my blog, I can still remove them after the prescribed period of time, right? I don’t care if they copy the info…….that’s okay.

Is there a way for readers to see the blog if they do not have a wordpress account? Asking them to set up an account may be way too ‘complicated’ for some of them?

    Thanks for your help.

If your blog is on private, they would need to open a wordpress account (don’t have to have a blog) in order to subscribe. If you weren’t on private, anyone could read/comment on your site.

By the way, that’s the way it works on every blogging platform (I’ve ever used). Livejournal, Typepad, MSN Spaces, Blogger, and Moveable Type are ones I’ve used. And they’ve all required that a person open an account, with that provider, if the site is set to private.
