Time taken to change "ownership" of account

My premium subscription to WordPress.com premium is due to expire in less than 24 hours. I have been unable to renew the current subscription as i am not the original “owner” of the upgrade/account.
The original owner of the upgrade/account (mavjt) began transfer process to me (paulbedggood) a few hours ago, however the transfer of ownership has not been completed.
I was wondering if there is a way to sped up the transfer process in light of my premium subscription expiring very shortly.

I do not see an active transfer of the site to your account. You’ll need to contact the user and ask them to follow these steps to transfer the site:

The former “owner” user followed the above steps 14 hours ago and was sent a message stating:
“As you have a domain upgrade your request has been sent to support who will contact you shortly”
I am concerned that if i do renew my premium subscription shortly my site will be negatively effected.
Is there any way the ownership transfer process can be sped up or a “grace period” granted before my premium subscription is revoked?
