Time Zone Problems
-
I have my time zone set correctly, but I scheduled a post for 10:00 am, and it went out at 11:00 pm. But shows in my dashboard as posted at 10:00 am. Right now I have a notification telling me that Thursday, September 10, 2015 has been my best day for follows. Except it is still Wednesday, September 9 for about 3 1/2 more hours. What’s going on?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Yeah, I guess that would be really helpful information, wouldn’t it?
My time zone is set to GMT-5.
I am in North Texas, USA.Thanks,

Scheduled posts do not publish until the first visitor to the site after the date and time scheduled clicks in and triggers publication of the post.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/schedule-a-post/#troubleshooting-scheduled-postsJust in case you have a timezone issue, the default timezone is UTC time. You can either confirm or reset your timezone here > Settings > General. There you select the closest city to you in the same timezone in the drop-down menu and then click “save changes”.
If you are logged in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the blog this is what you see here

As @timethief said, the default time is UTC. It’s basically the same as GMT, but what confuses me is that I don’t see any option for GMT in my settings. Are you referring to your computer’s time settings, or to the time settings under Settings ->General in your blog’s dashboard? You need to set it specifically for the blog, even if it’s already set for your computer. Please check if that isn’t perhaps the problem. Otherwise, tag this for staff as @timethief said so they can take a look.

Better to pick a city in your time zone – then Daylight Savings time is changed automatically

@kokkieh & auxclass
Thanks for your assistance here.@babblingbluecrab
Please update us on the status of your issue. -
Timethief; Thank you for the link to the Scheduled Posts instructions. That’s a little disappointing, but I’ll work with it.
Kokkieh: Yes, I meant UTC -5. I often interchange those terms (without really knowing 100% if that’s OK), but I was really focusing on the “-5.”
Auxclass: I failed geography.
Thanks for the help. The one unanswered question is regarding the notification that Thursday, September 10, 2015 has been my best day for follows which appeared Wednesday evening, September 9. Not really a huge issue, but curious nonetheless.

Try Chicago
The panel also shows the local time after you pick a city so you can double check the choice – the cities are large cities

You be welcome – yes the list is long and it can be intimidating at best
Forum threads are forever unless it is a personal safety issue – it a person puts personal info in such as a phone number the staff will redact that info, the forum automatically redacts email addresses
