Timestamps and Daylight Savings Time.

    Hi all,

I just created my account yesterday and noticed that when first writing entries, the timestamp was synchronized with Greenwich Mean Time. I changed the timestamp option to reflect the fact that I’m on Eastern Standard Time, which is 5 hours behind (so I put a -5 in). Everything worked great until today, when Daylight Savings Time started here in Canada, which means pushing all the clocks forward one hour.

Checking my timestamps now, WordPress hasn’t synched up with this, so that my real time here is now 4 hours behind GMT rather than 5. Should I change my timestamp option to -4, or expect that somehow everyone else does Daylight Savings too and hope that they also bump forward by one hour?

The server time will always be set to UTC as a known reference point.

I would bump your blog forward one hour to -4.

I ended up deleting my preset timestamp and now cannot figure out how to set up a new one. I read through the instructions regarding the php code and checked the tags but still do not understand it. I’m on Eastern Standard time. Yes, I am a huge newb!
