Timestamps For The Hemingway Rewritten Theme

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello,

I was wondering if there are any plans to add Timestamps (shows the time when a Post/Page/et cetera was created) to the Hemingway Rewritten theme (http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/hemingway-rewritten/)?

Like maybe adding Hover Text that shows the Timestamp when you hover the mouse cursor over the Date.

    Thank you,

  • Hi there, thanks for the suggestion. Could you let me know the benefit you’d see from seeing the time on a post so I can better understand the request? Thanks!

    Hello Kathrynwp,

    You are welcome. :)

I think that all the meta data(?) (authors, dates, timestamps, categories, tags, et cetera) should be available for all themes for those that want them shown (I like all/most of the meta data(?) to be shown even when viewing posts from the Home Page), but that is my opinion. ;)

To me like the other bits of meta data(?) timestamps provides useful bits of information for those who are interested such as: helping remind you of the exact time you made a post/page which is useful for various reasons and letting others know the exact time a post/page was made which is useful for various reasons.

I could try to give a long list of reasons/benefits (but I think that someone else would do a better job listing reasons/benefits than me ;) ), but I just simply think that it should be there along with the rest of the bits of meta data(?) for those who find it useful and/or for those who think that it should just be there like me. ;)

It is just a simple suggestion because I noticed that timestamps were missing in the Hemingway Rewritten theme, and I like all the meta data(?) to always be available/shown in all themes that I use.

    Thank you :) ,
    -John Jr

Hello! I’m a fan of “date/time stamps”! The idea of having that idea featured for all available themes would be nice because it provides the reader/s an approximation when comment/page/post was created. Further, I relish an extra idea of providing “date/time stamps” as an optional toggle feature (maybe) for when future edits are done on any/one original post; since I do find myself “editing” multiple times for spelling/grammar/flow/content/whatever. This is a short “wish-list” I’d like to see implemented for any/all themes, especially Hemingway Rewritten, which I the current theme I’m trying out right now… Thanks!

Also I am glad to hear that you are trying/testing the Hemingway Rewritten theme as well, I look forward to seeing what interesting customizations you will make to it. ;)
