Timethief: how do i 'falsify every date-stamp before publishing'?
-
Hi, you wrote:
“Blogs are essentially a reverse chronological order publishing tool wherein the most recent published post will display on top. You cannot change this order on a free hosted WordPress.com blog. It’s designed to serve your visitors as they come to read the most recent posts and will not be inclined to trawl through hundreds of posts to locate it.
See here for the option of creating a book-like structure > http://en.support.wordpress.com/write-a-book/ Perhaps that will work for you.
Or you could use a single sticky post as an index page > http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-visibility/#sticky-posts
Or you can falsify every date-stamp before publishing.”
Please could you tell me how to ‘falsify every date-stamp before publishing’?

Huge thanks :)
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Ignore mellissawashington98, this account has just started spamming the same suggestion to a load of forum threads.
What you would need to do edit each post and then manually adjust the date and time in the Publish section so that they are in the order that you want (here’s a screenshot).

Awesome, thanks. Okay got that happening : )
Also found this method:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/show-your-posts-in-chronological-order/but have no idea what the ‘add a string…’ bit is talking about. Can anyone tell me where we do all this (find the URL, add a start date, etc)?
Thanks

It’s not something you can set your site to do by default but if you want to show things in a different order via a sidebar link or from a custom menu you can just create a link with “?order=asc” on the end.
For example if you want people to be able to click to re-order your site then you would use: greatchristiandocumentaries2.wordpress.com/?order=asc.
It is only a work-around solution rather than a perfect fix though!

The URL they’re talking about is your site: greatchristiandocumentaries2.wordpress.com
Then the start date is something you’d pick yourself! So, if you want to show all posts from 2014 in chronological order (old to new), you’d have to use this URL: http://greatchristiandocumentaries2.wordpress.com/2014/?order=asc
You only seem to have posts from September, so it’s hard to show you other examples, but if you would have posts in 2013, you’d simply have to use this URL:
http://greatchristiandocumentaries2.wordpress.com/2013/?order=asc -
