Tips for how to customise CSS to change font of Sela theme for entire site

  • Unknown's avatar

    I am creating a blog for a friend who has a particular font in mind (Aleo). I chose the Sela theme and am attempting to change the CSS using the standard editor to reference the Aleo font. Here’s what’s I’ve got so far:

    /*
    Welcome to Custom CSS!

    To learn how this works, see http://wp.me/PEmnE-Bt
    */
    *{
    font-family:Aleo bold; serif;
    }
    .page-title,
    .post-title,
    .widget-title {
    font-family: “Aleo bold”, serif;
    }

    Question = do I have to identify every single HTML tag i.e. ‘p’; ‘h1’; ‘h2’ etc in the above space in order to reflect the changes across the whole site or is there a more simple way? (I haven’t defined the full font family yet)

    Any advice most welcome!

    Thank you!

    We have a collection of fonts available for our users on the Free plan, and an expanded selection for those on the WordPress.com Premium Plan. You can choose from those for Headings and the Base font at Customize > Fonts.

    Although you can specify fonts in CSS, to do so, the fonts would have to be installed on the visitor’s computer, and Aleo is not one of the standard fonts installed on all computers, so it would be highly unlikely that a visitor is going to see that font.

    Have a look at the fonts available at Customize > Fonts and see if you can find one that your friend would like.

    Is this the site of your friend http://adashofzestdotcom.wordpress.com/ ?
