Title appearing twice?

    Why does the title of my blog keep appearing twice on each page and in search hits?

    Hi there,

    I just went and checked out your site and wasn’t able to see any place where the title appeared twice. Is it still happening for you?

    I did however see what you were talking about on search hits:

    In this case, your username’s public name is also Create Innovation, and so it appears as the author and as the title of the page, which is why the double appearance.

    Thanks for looking. The double title refers to what is above your arrows in the screen grab (Create Innovation Create Innovation). Up until a week ago it was the singular Create Innovation. Lots of forums indicate the same problem in their .org sites, which has a SEO plugin as its cause. Obviously as a .com user I don’t have access to the plugins. As my username has always been the same do you know what else could be causing it?

    We don’t really have any control over what Google chooses to feature in their search results.

    What you’re seeing in those search results is:

    (by Create Innovation) Create Innovation. About (etc.)

    What’s essentially happening is:

    (by [author]) [title]. About (etc.)

    In this case, your author’s display name is the same as your site title, hence the appearance of duplication.
