Title Font-weight with Safari
-
Hi,
I have set the font-weight of my title to light (100) but it still looks very bold when compared to the video demo and Theme list portfolio.
If I change to Chrome I get the title lighter but I get the title-description rougher.
Any clues about this discrepancy?Thank you

By default your theme loads the Oxygen font at 3 weights: 300, 400 and 700, so those are the only choices you get. If you want to show the title and description as light as possible then you will need the custom design upgrade, then you could use this code:
h1.site-title a, h2.site-description { font-weight:300; }Alternatively with the upgrade you could pick a different thin font for your titles using custom fonts. Raleway is a nice example!

Hi,
1. That was not my question. My question was in demo video the font is lighter, much lighter than on my screen. And you answer that “if you want”… I don’t want anything special, I just want what I paid for and I would like to get an explanation for this discrepancy. You are the 4th person I contact and nobody gets my question right. Maybe my english is not the best but I believe is readable. Please read my words; why I have this discrepancy between what I see on my screen and the video demo?
Would you accept to get a grey car after choosing a black car?…2. If by default that is the Font loaded with this Theme then how to explain that the Theme on video demo is in fact the Oxygen as you mention but not on the Theme Template as shown in the theme’s portfolio of WordPress. And this last is the one who drove me to buy this theme. How this can be solved? And what are you planning to do in order to correct this discrepancy so to avoid this conversations that burns your time and mine?
3. In the Font List of Customise page there is nothing named Oxygen. So if I try something else and do not like it how do I come back to Oxygen?
4. By the way what is the font name of the Title-description?
Thank you

On the site you selected (joaquimbarrosdotme.wordpress.com) you are using the free Tonal theme, and don’t appear to have the custom design upgrade so can you confirm that is the WordPress.com site you are having issues with? If so, what upgrades/plans have you paid for? If that’s not the site you mean could you please post the other site’s URL.
And just to clarify: this is a volunteer forum, most people here aren’t members of staff. Staff do visit the forums though, if they leave post it will say “staff” or their job title instead of saying “member” under the username on the left of the post.

Hi Alluke,
My apology. I thought this was a reply from WordPress.
I’m new here and in any blog so I honestly thought this was a WordPress duty when we pay for it. The 4 people I contacted before were staff for sure so now I can see what you mean. I have been struggling with this question for almost 2 weeks by now.I paid the Theme and paid for Premium upgrade. Here is my site http://joaquimbarros.me and the only one I have.
Thank you for your efforts help and your time. And forget my previous words because they meant to be for WordPress since I paid for it.

That’s OK, no problem.
Each premium theme has it’s own dedicated support forum where the theme author(s) help their paying customers, so it might be worth asking your question there if we can’t solve it.
You mentioned making a comparison to a video and a theme portfolio, can you provide links to these so we can look in to the matter further – it’s hard to work out the problem if we can’t see what you’re comparing it to.
Your site title is actually in the font Dancing Script, which by default is loaded in two weights: 400 and 700 which you can choose from in your custom CSS. The theme demo site uses an image instead of a text title, so that could be causing the difference.
The site description is in Helvetica Neue and your custom CSS has it set to 100 weight.

Hi Alluke,
Thank you for your help. I will try that forum instead to see if this question has been raised before so I don’t waste anyone’s time. This tip is already of a great help from you! The staff whom I talked has never mentioned this to me….
But if I can’t get any help I might come back to you… ;) if that is OK, of course.Thank you so much!!!
Wish you a nice day or evening wherever you are.
Best regards
Joaquim
