Title of Blog

  I have edited the title of my blog from “A Polished Plan” to “A Connecticut Wedding & Event Planner’s Blog”. I may have incorrectly assumed that the title is what appears as the “heading” when the blog appears in a google search. Is this incorrect? When the blog appears in search results when I search “A Polished Plan”- the title of the blog has not updated/changed.
  Is there another general set-up function that I need to edit to change the title as any of the search engines find it?
