Title pictures | Pictures are not displayed on some mobile devices

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello!
The problem is with my blog
    https://punktpointdot.wordpress.com/
I was advised that on mobile devices (some? all?) title pictures, pictures are not displayed. On an iPhone, browser unknown, I was recently shown that the images are displayed correctly when switching to web mode.

This is not the point of the matter, the content must be clearly designed in such a way that it can be made available to devices independently. Still, I`m not aware of any guilt:

I have always edited all images, so I also brought them to a reasonable size of 900px x 600px, mostly 100 KB or less and similar format dependent.
I check the blog with different browsers, but not on mobile devices, but I don`t have any mobile devices. Therefor I checked the Responsive Design with
    http://ami. responsivedesign. is
    there was nothing wrong.
And: Picture titles do not contain umlauts.

What’s the mistake? Can I make a difference?
    Thank you and best regards

    Hi!

    Try disabling the mobile theme.

    Go here: https://punktpointdot.wordpress.com/wp-admin/themes.php?page=mobile-options

Where it says Enable mobile theme, select No, then Update.

Once you’ve done that, let me know and I’ll check your site on mobile to be sure it’s working as intended!

As for the umlauts, I do see them on several titles. Can you give an example of where they’re not appearing?

Oops, I just realized your interface is likely in German.

    So:

Where it says Mobiloptimiertes Theme aktivieren, select Nein, then Aktualisieren.

    🙂

Now i selected no and updated.
    There are umlauts? Ups!
    Here are non:
    Hoffentlich (14. Dezember), or
    Pionier (7. Dezember),
    Sammelpunkt SPIX (30. November) or
    Einladung (23. November).

    Thank You so much!

Oh, that’s strange. Some posts do show umlauts – for example, Schön, 16 November. Could you try editing those post titles which are supposed to have umlauts, saving them, and letting me know whether it’s working?

I checked your site on an iPhone and iPad, and all of your images are now displaying. On those devices, your site now looks exactly as it does on my computer. Your theme is not mobile-friendly, which is why WordPress automatically turned on their own mobile theme. But your images work now!

Ah, ok, i didn`t write well. I have no umlauts in the names of the pictures. But i have umlauts in some articles and some titles.

The Title of Schön i changed now to Schoen (https://punktpointdot.wordpress.com/2018/11/16/schoenklinik-harlaching/)

And that my images are working now: Great!

Also: With your experience would You change the theme? (I love AutoFocus theme since many years, it would be hard for me!)

    Thanks

You know, it’s really a matter of personal preference. If you love your theme, then keep it!

But if you happen to know you have many visitors using mobile devices, it might be worth considering a change.

WordPress.com has several themes in a grid layout like your current one. You can see those here: https://wordpress.com/themes/filter/grid-layout/

I see one that actually looks quite similar to the theme you’re using now, called AltoFocus: https://wordpress.com/theme/altofocus/

You can see a live demo here: https://altofocusdemo.wordpress.com/

It’s super customizable, so you can use your current fonts, colors, and widgets on it (though note that with this theme, all widgets will display in the footer area).

And that’s just one of several—at the time of posting, WordPress.com has 103 grid themes!

    I hope this helps!

Oh yeah, that helps and helped me very much!
And that leaves me a little speechless: competent, comprehensive, fast, friendly: Great. Chapeau!

    Nice greetings from europe
