title position regulus theme

The title position in the regulus theme is set to the right hand side. If one enters a very long title with characters that expand it like I did here http://coyotes.wordpress.com you can move it somewhat to the left. However, if you try to achieve the same thing by entering spaces after the title it doesn’t work. Is there a way working within the existing programing to move the title on this theme to the left hand side.

Why not just remove the text and add it into your banner?

The Wp code is probably stripping the spaces from your text. I would have tried the same thing. :)

Great idea! And you know what they say about great minds, eh? Well I’m wondering if I’ll find a tip or trick on how to add lettering to the many banner/headers I made in someone’s blog one day. [She said with a big grin because she hasn’t a clue how to add the text to the many header/banners she made in ms paint]. lol

How else do you think I make my banners but in MSPaint?

  • Unknown's avatar

Yes, I know, I know but it’s about the text. How does one *insert text* using ms paint? [she groveled]

    – Load the banner into MSPaint

    – I would go ahead and save it now as a different name just to be on the safe side in case you muck it up. Heck, I would. :)

    – Click on the styled ‘A’ along the left hand column. This will change your cursor to a stripped plus sign cursor.

    – You’ll also note a pair of new buttons along the left hand side with a yellow box and three shapes. If you look closely at them, you’ll note that the difference between them is the background of the green block. (Dang, that’s small) Anyway, what you want is probably the button on the bottom. You’ll note that the green cube’s background is white in one while the other is clear. What you’re doing here is telling MSPaint that any changes you’re going to make need to have a clear background so the rest of the image sees through.

    – Go back to the image and figure out where you want one of the corners of your text to be. Click and hold your mouse button on thaty spot, drag the mouse to the opposite corner, and let go once you have a box the size you want in there. If you make a mistake, just hit the Escape key to get rid of what you did.

    – When you release your mouse button, up will pop a new window. This is where you can choose your text font, size, and all that. If you want to change your font color, use the boxes along the bottom.

    – Type in your text. You might have to click within the box to get it to show up.

    – Save when done. :)

You might want to practice before hand and a test image. I know sometimes I have to do a few test runs to get it the way I want an image the way I like it.

    Hope this helps,

edit: This is what I should do an article on.

If you want me to do up a banner for you, please let me know. Text, font, and all that.

I sneaked out of work to see if you had replied. Thanks so much for this. It is the instruction I have been missing. When I get time I’ll give it a whirl and do it as many times as required until I get it. [Well, okay if I don’t succeed then I’ll come back tail between my legs and get you to do it.]

Aye, and didn’t I say from the outset in this thread:

gotta go before I get the hook

Made a banner hooray! *BUT* the font size is small. Your instructions said:- When you release your mouse button, up will pop a new window. This is where you can choose your text font, size, and all that. If you want to change your font color, use the boxes along the bottom.

When I released my mouse button no pop-up appeared so I had no way to select either a font or size.

You can force the popup at View -> Text Toolbar to make those changes.

  • Unknown's avatar

    gottcha – off to do:)

  • Unknown's avatar

BAH! text toolbar grayed out and unusable – what to do now?

  • Unknown's avatar

Click on the stylized ‘A’ and make your box. Should come up then.

  • Unknown's avatar

“A” worked and I get the text box no problem but no pop-up to select font or size happens

could this be a Norton security thingee ie. pop-up blocking (nah, can’t be blocking operating system can it?)

YES! Resolved. Thanks for your patience – sometimes it’s the most simple things that are hard to get.

How do you mark a topic – resolved?

  • Unknown's avatar

Up at the top of the page. I had to ask to. :)
