Title will not save

Explain the glitch and how to correct it. Never had a problem with this when posting to my previous wordpress site.

Also, why is there no option to add tags for SEO?

Really awkward to use. If I click on ‘Posts’ in ToC, I get ‘no posts’ which is idiotic because a post is clearly visible when I ‘visit site’. Very confusing. After years of doing business, you don’t see how confusing this is?

  • Hi there – I’ll try to answer your questions below.

Title will not save. Explain the glitch and how to correct it. Never had a problem with this when posting to my previous wordpress site.

Can you tell us more about which title you are referring to? It is the title of your site? Or perhaps the title of a page or post you are working on?

One more question about this, can you tell us if you are working from a computer, tablet, or mobile device?

Also, why is there no option to add tags for SEO?

It sounds like you may have had a custom “self-hosted” WordPress site previously and that site may have had an SEO plugin installed which allowed you to add keywords. Does that sound right?

If I click on ‘Posts’ in ToC, I get ‘no posts’ which is idiotic because a post is clearly visible when I ‘visit site’.

I, too, see there are no posts. I looked closer at the home page and noticed that what’s appearing there is in fact a page, which you can find here: https://wordpress.com/pages/

It’s not our intention to make the experience awkward, and we are always looking for opportunities to improve, so we thank you for sharing your experience with us. I look forward to hearing back from you on my questions above so we can help you continue moving forward with your site.

I began with the pen icon “write” and immediately filled in a title as prompted. Then I added content and edited. Saved drafts, clicked update.

But the title of the page disappeared. So I just put it as a header at the top of the text, but the page is now indexed as “no title”. Why did this happen?

It’s possible that my original account is self-hosted, because the domain name you gave me is .home.blog which is more more elegant and compact than the freebie ones now available.

I realize that posts will show posts to other people’s blogs.

I use a laptop or computer never a phone or tablet.

    Thanks.

    Hi there!

I’m still not seeing any posts on your site. Just to ensure that we’re looking at the right site, can you confirm that you have been working on mysticallylyrical.wordpress.com? If not, can you share the address of the site you are working on?

I realize that posts will show posts to other people’s blogs.

I’m afraid I’m not quite sure what you mean by this. Would you please explain this a bit further?
