Titles and font changed on home page

My titles to each post on the home page have changed. I am sorry to ask, but I have spent about 2 hours looking for the answer and re-doing what I did today in hopes to find it and fix it. I know it has to be something simple. My blog is drmissionary.wordpress.com . All of the other pages are fine by the way. Only the titles on the home page are wrong. Thank you for your help.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Can we have a link to the blog please so that we can look?

The only thing I see is that the second post is the second post was copied and pasted from MS Word. Word doesn’t really speak “web” and as such brings in all sorts of code that can mess things up.

Open that post for edit, and select all the text in the post. Then, click on the “remove formatting” button in the lower tool bar and that should strip out any offending code.

One thing I would suggest is that you go to settings > writing and select “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” and then click “save changes.” That should prevent any unclosed tags in the future from causing problems.

That said though, in both Safari 3 and Firefox 3, the blog looks fine. What browser are you viewing it with?

I did what you suggested, but the problem is still there. I am using Firefox 3. We pulled it up on a different computer running IE, and it showed the same problem. I had already clicked the “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” box. The page was fine until sometime today.

After examining it a little more, it looks like the font is the same as the other pages, but the color is off. Can I manually go in and change the color back to how it was before?

If I were you I’d do the Cookie Dance: log out, clear browser cache and cookies, restart the computer. Report back whether that does or does not fix the problem.

I have 4 computers in here, and every one of them show the home page (www.drmissionary.wordpress.com) with the red lettering. It should be kind of a smoky-blue like every other page in the blog. I did, however, exit, clear the cache and cookies and restart the computer. I am still seeing red (no I’m not angry either) on the home page. :) I then changed themes completely, then came back to Ocean Mist. Sadly, it came back up with only the home page showing red lettering in the titles. I know the answer is out there somewhere. I will try whatever you tell me to. I am confident that it can be fixed.

I think that is how Ocean Mist is supposed to look.

When I test Ocean Mist, the titles of posts on the home page are in red, as they are in a list of titles on category and tag pages. (You are not using a category or cloud or archives widget, so you won’t see those pages.)

On regular pages the titles are grey in a light blue rectangle.

An odd note about that theme is that images with links get an automatic red border! (though I don’t think you have linked images?)

I sure hope that I haven’t wasted everyone’s time. I apologize if that is how it is supposed to be. I thought every page was in that grey color before, but I certainly could be mistaken. Thank you for taking the time to check it out for me. I’ll just forget about it then. I would like to change the color of those titles if it is possible to do. If I don’t hear any more about it, though, I’ll just call it good like it is. Thank you, everyone, for all of your help.

Yes, if you’re talking about the colour of each blog post, red is how it is.

You won’t be able to change the colour without a knowledge of CSS and the paid CSS upgrade.
