Titles, Caption, Alt Text and Description
-
Hi
Some help needed with this please. I have read up on a few articles now about alt text, titles, captions, etc and am still confused.
Many of my current posts are simply a photo and then me recaptioning the photo. Please see my blog for an example of what I mean.
So for the purpose of the metadata, I am wondering how best to fill in the following:
Title
Caption
Alt Text
DescriptionThe bit that is confusing me is the Caption could perhaps be the caption I am quoting on my post, but then that could also be used for the alt-text and maybe even the description, so won’t I end up duplicating and is this a problem or does that really not matter?
So, do I need to fill in Title, Caption, Alt Text and Description or can I get away with just one or two of them filled?
Hope this makes sense. A working example would really help here.
Thanks

Good day,
Please refer to this guide below for descriptions of the image metadata:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/images/image-settings/
Title – is for you to search the image later in the Media Library.
Caption – will show up on the blog post if you fill in the data (don’t need caption if you don’t want text to display underneath the image).
Alt-Text – in case readers cannot load the image, this data will show up instead (optional also).
Description – it’s optional.Hope this can clear up some concerns for you.
Cheers,
Win
