titles over running columns

@Shawna and Kathryn
My sense of humor is drier than Melba toast so I hope you got the dry humor between the lines. I was pointing a finger at myself and laughing at me.
I am addicted to answering support questions and I am acknowledging that publicly here. I’m not either over-estimating my contribution to WordPress.com nor under-estimating it either. In a forum environment it’s easy come and easy go – whack a mole and another pops up scenario, no matter how many years of contribution one has made. I accept that. No one is indispensable. We can all be replaced and that will happen over time.
And, now I have 247 emails to work my way through. O happy day! :(
-
I gotcha. :) I’d say most of us here are a little addicted to helping users.. And it sounds like you’ve really thought it through and this is what’s best for you. Changes are hard, but they can be oh so gratifying. :)
That’s a ton of emails! Do you use filters at all? I find them super helpful in keeping non-immediate emails out of my inbox, so I don’t get those little number pop ups telling me I have emails. There are even a few emails I send straight to the trash.
-
Yes I use some email filters and I finally waded through it all. I keep my personal email address private. I use separate email accounts for all my contracted work which will be over and done with by the new year. The business has it’s own email address and this juggling between email accounts usually works okay for me.
Yes, I have thought this through carefully following the wake-up call I got when I landed in the hospital emergency ward. What’s got to be cut way back is the amount of volunteering I do here, so that means I have to rein myself in. It’s hard to do, both because I’m addicted and because I’m already online so I can often sneak answers in here and there while I am multitasking.

I figured you had a good system going for your emails. :D Personally, I’m the queen of Gmail labels.
I hope your health is looking up now! It can be so hard to kick a habit like that. I’ve done it with Facebook and the like, but never something as big as the time you spend here. Maybe you can have a “cheat day”, like people do when they diet. ;)
-
The truth is I have two serious conditions that are not curable. I have to learn how to manage and cope. I cheated yesterday and today here I am again doing a little more cheating while waiting for clients to login. lol :D
-
I hope you find a good balance for yourself. I’m in a similar boat, except none of my maladies are serious, just annoying and inhibiting. Be kind to yourself. :)
-
My heart goes out to you because I could write the book on coping with annoying and inhibiting invisible disabilities. Please be sure to take your own counsel. :)
