TLS certificate not being generated after several days
-
Can anyone confirm the upper bound on time to get a certificate? I tried emailing support about it yesterday but no response yet and it’s been several days waiting for the cert to be generated. Other hosts generate Let’s Encrypt certs in minutes, not days, so this is odd.
I didn’t want to point DNS at WordPress.com until the cert was generated because HSTS means my site is broken until the cert gets generated, and maybe that’s why the challenge can’t be fulfilled yet either if Let’s Encrypt is trying to connect using HTTP on port 80?
Anyone else gone through this before and have any advice?

Hi there!
I was able to manually provision an SSL certificate for the domain. Can you check now? If it’s working for you too, you can make the domain primary by following this guide:
Your primary site address is the domain that people will see in their browser’s address bar when visiting your site. It is the address you use to promote your website. Requirements To use a domain as your site’s primary address, you will need: A domain registered or connected to WordPress.com. Any paid WordPress.com plan. With a paid WordPress.com plan, you can set a custom doHope that helps! Feel free to let us know if you have more questions.

Glad all is working well now!
Good to know that I should come to the public forums right away next time.
With your Business plan, you actually have access to live chat 24/7, so it’s generally fastest to choose that option. (If all our Happiness Engineers are busy, you’ll be routed to email.) I went ahead and closed your email ticket from yesterday since the issue’s been resolved.
Cheers!

@kathrynwp Thanks for letting me know! My browser was blocking Zendesk’s script so I thought it was just unavailable every time I looked in there. Will try that out next time
