To go from hosted to self hosted?
-
Hello Everyone,
I chose Hosted WordPress, then from there I could choose a plan (primary). But I believe I need to be self-hosted to have descrete adds to create a small income for myself so I can stay at home to tend to my boys, practice my sewing and writing. I believe that I should be able to upgrade from hosted to self-hosted, but all the instructions I’ve read is a bit overwhelming. Can you direct me in this?
Thank you,

Hi @jennifersewingbytheyard – On WordPress.com you can apply to use WordAds on your site. The full advertising guide is available to you here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/advertising/
You can manage your own adds through a self hosted site that uses the installation of WordPress.
WordPress.com (here) differs from WordPress.org, those differences are outlined here for you to read about: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
This is the complete step-by-step guide on how to move your site from WordPress.com to WordPress.org. Alternatively, you can pay a one time fee for a Guided Transfer.
Please let me know if you have additional questions.
