To hell with it.

I want other people not just to comment, but to add something of their own. Is this possible?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

A blog is not a public noticeboard, wiki, or a forums where anyone can post whatever they wish. One has to provide access to one’s blog for contributors and specific the extent of they access they have by designating roles.
If you’d like to invite others to publish posts or help approve comments on your blog, you can invite them to be a Contributor, Editor, or Author.

If what I posted above does not suit, then there no message boards, forums or wikis that you can embed into a free hosted WordPress.com blog.
However, you have three free workaround forum options: http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2012/04/23/wordpress-com-forum-options/
And, you have these free wiki options http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2011/06/13/whats-a-wiki/ -
Given that you have a one day old blog – with almost no content – expecting people to leave comments and such is not realistic in my opinion – my site averages about one comment for every 3,000 to 4,000 page views
You need to have something that people will visit –

♫Good morning ♫
I have a 5 year old blog with subscribers and traffic. I’m lucky if I get 1 comment for every 700 – 800 views. Even A List bloggers have a hard time securing meaningful comments. Since like buttons were introduced the comment count has descended. -
My top Post in views last year had 12,000 views and no comments – (a how to article) in 2011 less traffic and two comments – unusual for my site to get comments – most people visit to solve a specific problem – once in a while a new article will get a couple of comments – my article on Free NOAA charts got a couple I think –
the only place I see a lot of comments are on help forums – “I have a hole in my boat how do I fix it?” – then there will be some people that help the person – but when you look at the Posters that help it is a small number of core people – just like the help forum here –
