To keep free domain free

    Dear sir / madam,

    Today I received an e-mail on my e-mailaddress (email visible only to moderators and staff) with the following content: ‘Just popping in to remind that your free domain is still available with your upgrade, but your 40% off deal ends on Friday September 17’. I want to use constantly a free domain. What are the consequences when I do no not upgrade my blog http://www.fransholtkamp.wordpress.com? Is my blog coming black?

    Hi there:

    There’s two “free domains” at play here:

    1. fransholtkamp.wordpress.com is your free WordPress.com domain and will remain free.
    2. A free (for the first year) custom domain registration if you upgrade to one of our paid plans.

    The email you received is a marketing email with a 40% off the first yearly term pricing which highlights that free custom domain registration.

    If you want to keep blogging using your free fransholtkamp.wordpress.com domain, you can do so indefinitely without needing to upgrade.

    If these marketing emails are confusing, you can click the “unsubscribe” link in those emails to be removed from that marketing list.
