Hi there. The problem here is your categories widget.
You have added three categories widgets. You should only use one.
Let me explain: The categories widget lists ALL your categories, so if you add more than one widget, each widget will lists all your categories. At this point you only have that one category. As you add more categories they will also appear in all the widgets.
Go to Appearance ->Widgets and delete to of your categories widgets. Then change the title of the remaining one to something generic. Then all your categories will appear there as you add new ones. https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/categories-widget/

Hi kokkieh
Thank you for your response on 4 Sep 2015.
I have decided not to use Categories as I think it is not necessary.
Look at my website menu e.g. Home, Video, Cookbooks etc. under Cookbook I would like Recipes Gallery to be separate menu. The Asian Cookbook is below Cookbooks. Chinese Cuisines Snacks and One-dish-meal and The Oriental Cookbook are missing below. I can find them under Dashboard>Pages. Give me the steps to do it.
Q2. I would like to break The Asian Chinese Cookbook to 2 pages from No 26 since it is too long. How – give me the steps.
Q3. Likewise The Oriental Cookbook
Q4. How do I remove the space above Chinese Cuisines Table of Contents page ? Give me the steps.
I appreciate your attention and reply.

under Cookbook I would like Recipes Gallery to be separate menu.
Do you mean you want it to appear in the main menu, rather than as a sub of Cookbook? It depends on whether you have a custom menu or not. If you have a custom menu, go to Appearance Menus where you’d created the menu and drag-and-drop that page to the left so it’s no longer indented. Save the menu.
If you don’t have a custom menu, go to Pages ->All Pages in the WP-Admin dashboard (http://specialasianfood.wordpress.com/wp-admin/). find the Recipes Gallery page and click on Quick Edit. Find the option titled “Parent” and set it to main page. Update the page.
Chinese Cuisines Snacks and One-dish-meal and The Oriental Cookbook are missing below. I can find them under Dashboard>Pages
If they don’t appear under Pages, then you didn’t publish pages with those titles. Remember that categories aren’t pages. Categories are used to classify Posts. To have all posts from a specific category appear on your menu you have to create a category page. You do that by going to Appearance ->Menus and adding the category directly to the menu. Complete instructions on these pages:
Q2. I would like to break The Asian Chinese Cookbook to 2 pages from No 26 since it is too long. How – give me the steps.
I see in the source code you’ve already tried inserting the next page tag, but as you have a table on that page you’ll need to first split the table, then add the next page tag into the split.
In the HTML editor, remove the next-page tag you added just after number 26. Then, between the /tr tag that ends 26 and the tr tag that starts 27, add the following:</tbody> </table> </td> <td width="152"></td> </tr> </tbody> </table> <!--nextpage--> <table width="100%"> <tbody> <tr> <td width="497"> <table width="497"> <tbody> <tr> <td></td> <td><u><strong>Table of Contents</strong></u><strong> </strong></td> <td><strong>Page</strong></td> </tr>I tried this on my test blog and it works for me, so it should for you as well.
Q3 and 4 in next reply.

Q3. Likewise The Oriental Cookbook
As there’s no page with that title you’ll first need to create that page. You’ll then split the table the same way, essentially creating two complete tables with the next-page tag between them.
If you have published that page but it’s just not appearing in the menu, you can add it to the menu from Appearance ->Menus in the dashboard. See these links regarding custom menus and category pages mentioned above:

http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2011/12/19/custom-menus/Q4. How do I remove the space above Chinese Cuisines Table of Contents page ? Give me the steps.
As I don’t see a page with that title on your site I can’t really answer that for you. I did notice a large gap between the description and the table on the Asian Chinese Cookbook page. In the source code it shows a paragraph containing a non-breaking space html entity directly above the table:
<p> </p>Delete that, and the gap should disappear.
-
The code for the non-breaking space apparently won’t post between code-tags. Let me try pasting it directly. The following would be between the p-tags:
-
Nope, didn’t show there either. Last time, between the p-tags you’ll see ‘&’ followed by ‘nbsp;’
Delete that entire line to remove the space.

Hi Kokkieh
You are indeed a very helpful and patient guy ! Thank you very much for your emails on the following subjects. Due to change of my previous Theme Penscratch to Colinear Theme certain items have been disrupted. I refer toQ1. Your email of 4 Sep 2015 – I have deleted the 3 Cookbooks in right Sidebar under Categories as it is very confusing except The Asian Chinese Cookbook cannot be deleted.
Recipes in Gallery is in Page by itself and also in Customised Menu left and right could not drag to left (leave this alone first)
Q2. Space above Chinese Cuisines Table of Contents>Text – I remove <p align=”justify” …. to whet you appetite </p> but space still not entirely removed. I have copy and past Text below.

Q1. Your email of 4 Sep 2015 – I have deleted the 3 Cookbooks in right Sidebar under Categories as it is very confusing except The Asian Chinese Cookbook cannot be deleted.
I don’t see any categories widget anymore, so it looks like you’ve figured it out.
Recipes in Gallery is in Page by itself and also in Customised Menu left and right could not drag to left (leave this alone first)
To see what I meant with dragging it to set a child page, see this screenshot: http://snag.gy/rf1hU.jpg
Q2. Space above Chinese Cuisines Table of Contents>Text – I remove <p align=”justify” …. to whet you appetite </p> but space still not entirely removed. I have copy and past Text below.
I do not see that page on your site and I do not see any pasted text. If you’re trying to paste your html code you need to do it between code tags using the button above the text box in the forum.

Hi Kokkieh
Q4. Q2 should be Q4. Chinese Cuisines Table of Contents (Leave it alone first)
Yes, both Chinese Cuisines and Oriental Cookbook have been published – they can be seen in Pages
Q2. To break The Table of Contents to 2 pages
I really find it hard to do this (just leave it alone first)Q3. Likewise The Oriental Cookbook (leave it alone first)
The important one is the next one below
Q5. Each of the 3 Cookbooks to link to The Table of Contents
Click Cookbooks>The Asian Chinese Cookbook>Edit>Caption>See The Asian Chinese Cookbook
Table_of_ContentsI have to go and copy the Text and paste in separate email to you so that you can tell me what I should do.

You might see them in Pages, but I don’t see them on your site, as you haven’t added them to your menu. You need to go to Appearance ->Menus and add them to your menu.

I can’t tell you what to do if you don’t actually tell me what you want.

Hi Hokkieh
Q2 above should read Q4 (leave this alone first)
Q2 and Q3 I really find it hard to break to “next page” (just leave alone first)
All 3 cookbooks have been published
Q5. (a) This is very important. Each Cookbook to link to Table of Contents. Click Cookbooks>The Asian Chinese Cookbook>Edit>Caption>you see
The Asian Chinese Cookbook
The Table_of_ContentsThumbnail 119×150
Medium 238×300 (I use this)
Full Size 540c680
Custom Size 212×300
Link to Attachment Page https://specialasianfood.wordpress.com/picture-002I want to link this Asian Chinese Book to Table of Contents page – when I click the link icon it ask for Destination URL to Add Link – what shall I type here
Click Cookbooks>The Asian Chinese Cookbook I can see The Table of Contents but Chinese Cuisines and The Oriental Cookbook previously were there but not now.
(b) Likewise if Chinese Cuisines and Oriental Cookbook have been under Cookbook as previously I would be able to see the Table of Contents under each Category but they have disappeared (maybe I deleted off the Categories in right Sidebar)
I appreciate you check and advise me if you can
Thank you. -
Hi hokkieh
I have solved some problems in Q5.
Q5. I manage to put back the Chinese Cuisines and The Oriental Cookbook under Cookbook by going to Appearance>Menu>Menu Settings and tick Automatically add new top-level pages to this menu
and also tick Primary MenuNow left the 3 Cookbooks to link to each Table of Contents by clicking the link icon>Destination URL and Add Link. Please check.
Appreciate your feedback and reply.
Thank you. -
Okay. I can see all three pages now.
Now left the 3 Cookbooks to link to each Table of Contents by clicking the link icon>Destination URL and Add Link. Please check.
I’m not sure what you want to do here. Where exactly do you want to add links to these tables of content?
The links for the three pages are what appears in your browser’s address bar while you’re viewing the page. So, the links you would use to link to these three pages are
Asian Chinese Cookbook – https://specialasianfood.wordpress.com/table-of-contents/
Chinese Cuisines – https://specialasianfood.wordpress.com/chinese-cuisines-snacks-an-one-dish-meal/
Oriental Cookbook – https://specialasianfood.wordpress.com/the-oriental-cookbook-3/ -
Hi hokkieh
I refer to your email of 8 Sep 2015.Now that the 3 cookbooks with Table of Contents are back in the Menu under Cookbooks I think it is not necessary to do the link from Cookbooks page to use the link Destination URL to Table of Contents again as I cannot figure out what URL to use. Anyway, viewers can just click each individual cookbooks under Cookbooks in menu and they can see the Table of Contents.
What nationality and race are you and which city and country do you reside? Do you like cooking? If you do I can present you a PDF Chinese Cuisines Snacks and One-dish Meal. Just send me your private email so that I can attach it to you.
In appreciation I want to thank you very much for your time, effort and help.
-
I’m from South Africa, and I do like to cook, yes. I appreciate that you want to send me the book, but I don’t think it’s really allowed under the support forum’s rules. But thank you nonetheless.
I am glad if I could help, and your thanks is payment enough :)
Good luck with your cookbooks. If you need more help in future, you know where to find it.
