to transfer or to map my domain

  Hi, I already bought a domain and now I come across the option to either ‘transfer my domain away from my current registrar’ or ‘map my domain without moving it from my current registrar’. I want the cheapest option, which would that be?

  For both, you will need one of our paid plans.

  You can either map your domain – it will stay with the current registrar, and you’ll need to go to their site to manage anything domain-related. You’ll also keep paying them to renew your domain.
  Mapping is included in all our paid plans so no additional costs on our end.

  Or you can transfer the domain to WordPress.com, and we’ll be your new registrar. This way, you’ll manage everything from one place, and you’ll be able to reach support with any domain related-issues :) Domain transfer is included in your plan price. After the first year, the price of the domain will depend on its extension (TLD):
