To upgrade or not upgrade?

    We run a small business in Perth, Australia and I’m considering upgrading from a free wordpress webpage to either premium upgrade and business upgrade.
    Being small, funds are limited and we want the best return for money. Anyone have any advice?

    I want more electronic leads basically. Exposure.
    A .com site I think is better than …wordpress.com.

    I’m fairly green to e-marketing so just seeking some advice.

    If I may chime in:

    What makes the business bundle stand out is that you sell stuff on your site via the eCommerce plugins. You also have live chat support, unlimited media storage and premium themes, but the eCommerce is the main thing, so if that’s what you’re after, the Business bundle is for you.

    However, if you’re not looking at selling products online, but just a website to increase your business’s online presence, the premium bundle might be sufficient. You’ll get your own domain (which is better in terms of branding and SEO), and you’ll have custom design so you can change the appearance of your site. If you’re not worried about customization, even buying just a domain instead of the whole bundle might be enough.

Keep in mind that neither option will give you access to your site’s base files or the ability to install custom themes or plugins. As you’ll still be hosted by WordPress.com you also still won’t be allowed to add advertising (though with the custom domain you can apply to add WordAds to your site) and are still bound by the same Terms or Service as with your free address.
