to use an address which is occupied but not used

  I want to change my lilalany.wordpress.com to some other address which is something.wordpress.com. But the something.wordpress.com is occupied (something is here an example, not my intended address) and it seems that it is not used for 8 years already. So the question is: is it possible to get this exactly address? If possible, how can I do it? Or the only way is to think about something else?

  ask the site owner to transfer the site to you – the staff will not take a site away from someone just because it is not in use – nor will they give you contact info for the site owner

  look for a contact form or try leaving a comment and see if they answer – else put your thinking hat on and think of a new name or buy a custom domain name and map it to a blog here
