To what extent can I customise the Ryu theme widgets?

HI everyone,
I work for an NGO, who doesn’t have much money at the moment and needs to launch a new website soon. I have been designing one using the Ryu theme, which is the only free theme I have found that gives me the look and feel I want… but I really want to social media widgets displayed on the side or bottom bar of the front page to engage people, and the theme only seems to allow me to put them into a small square menu at the top of the page. If I pay to Customise the site, will I be able to put the widgets anywhere I like on the page (without know much about web design!)?! https://afraland.wordpress.comThanks so much!

Hi,
If you upgrade your plan, you’ll be able to use customized CSS settings that will allow you to change your style and layout.
However, there are many free themes that allow you to place your social media widgets in the sidebars. I suggest you dig a little bit more into other theme options.
Also, you can upgrade for a 14 day trial of the Premium plan and during that time see if the upgrade will suit your needs. You can cancel your upgrade in this trial period if you see it’s not for you. Take into account that the changes that you make during this trial will not remain if you cancel the plan. The objective of the trial is to judge by yourself if the upgrade helps you.
CSS customization can be very easy and if you don’t have much experience, you can always visit the CSS forums. Check out the following link for more information.

I did try about 30 other themes, which did indeed let me move the widgets around but didn’t give me the other features that this one provides :-)
I’ll give the trial period a try and see what I can do!

I don’t think most Volunteers are aware of it. When in doubt you can try tag searching or Google searches because I have been tagging threads for over 9 years. :) -
