Together Theme – different when installed

  I love the layout of the theme on the wordpress.com site
  https://togetherdemo.wordpress.com/

  However after installing, it looks nothing like the demo and completely different with menus across the top and not the single button like in the demo. Side bar menu displays as well but not in the demo.

  How do I start with the same layout as in the demo then customize from there?

  It looks like you are trying to use a wordpress.com theme on a site which is not hosted by wordpress.com
  lenagillespie.com is not hosted here, so you, unfortunately, have found yourself in the wrong place.
  Before I offer you some links that show you the differences between wordpress.com and wordpress.org, I have found a link to the same theme on wordpress.org,

  @lenagillespie071117 is the site linked to your name where you have installed the together theme or is it a WordPress.com site? Settings from previous themes often carry over when you change themes and there is content such as menus and widgets that need removing/changing to get the full look of the new theme you have chosen.

  @tophatt29 many WordPress.com themes give a link to the WordPress.org version as does https://wordpress.com/theme/together if you scroll down to the bottom of the page.
