    http://www.tomarhospitality.com/blog/ is not a WordPress.com site.

    These forums are exclusively for free-hosted WordPress.COM
    Your site is paid self-hosted WordPress.ORG.
    WordPress.COM ≠ WordPress.ORG
    These are two different platforms so our answers won’t work for your problem.

    Here are details about the two different WordPress platforms:

    Tomarhospitality! I hope all is well! I understand that you may want to remove the footer text at the bottom of your page. Unfortunately, this is not allowed according to the WordPress terms of service.
    http://en.wordpress.com/tos/
    But hey, look on the bright side. You are driving the Mercedes Benz of blogging platforms…You shouldn’t want to remove the hood emblem! Flaunt it!

    All jokes aside, removing the footer text is not an option. Although, your blog is looking awesome nevertheless!

    If you are asking about your WordPress.COM site instead:
    http://tomarhospitality.wordpress.com/

    Then please review the Terms of Service you agreed to when you signed up for free hosting here:

    If you remove or alter that footer, then your site could very likely be suspended for breaking your agreement to the ToS.

    @themerkabah
    The OP has 2 different sites. One is self-hosted and the other is free hosted. She or he can remove the footer on the self-hosted site, but the ToS on the site hosted here on wp.COM will result in the blog being suspended as I explained above.

    Here are the two:
    http://www.tomarhospitality.com/blog = paid hosting
    WordPress.ORG
    https://wordpress.org/support/ = free hosted
    WordPress.COM

    She or he can remove the footer on the self-hosted site,

    Maybe – Maybe not – some themes at .ORG also require the footer to be left intact – some themes will do bad stuff to your site if you remove the footer

    You need to check the licensing for the theme

    @auxclass:

    I don’t have a lot of experience with wp.ORG. The little I do have, I’ve never run into a problem.

    But that’s like a goose saying, “I’ve never tasted foie gras…”

    Thanks for the info!

    I didn’t scrub off the “Vincent van Gogh” from the bottom of my original
    “Starry Night” painting. An artist deserves credit after all. But I did get rid of the notice about getting a free blog—https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GgU6I4ky9KI

    @Tess – I used to help a bit over at .ORG – footer credits were an issue from time to time, also some free sites had ads on them (like here) to help pay for the hosting and there were always people that wanted to remove the ads so visitors could not see that they were shysters too cheap to pay for hosting. Most folks would give the shysters the middle finger lecture

    Depends on the developer – some free themes are loss leaders for the paid themes made by a theme shop – and they want the credit and referral – same reason that WordPress.COM requires the footer here to stay.

    I think I remember some themes building checks into the code to check for removal of the credits, if the credits were missing then the theme took some sort of action.

    Thanks for the info.
    The sites were non-profits and I chose some nice classy themes. They didn’t object to giving the creators credit, which they agreed was fair—they being artistic themselves. And in the end I convinced 2 out of the 3 to move to wp.com because it was a better use of scarce funds. So no real experience as you describe.
    But I couldn’t resist a bit of sarcasm about the low-rent “get a free blog or site…” I suppose it’s the same: giving credit to WordPress.com for the free hosting. It just lacks refinement. :(

    yes the new footer is for sure low rent & no class
