Tonal Theme- Changing Menu

Hello! I would like to change the menu layout for this theme so that I can display the categories of my posts (currently have only one category but plan to have around 5 or 6 total) as a link/button in a horizontal line across the top- is this possible to do with the CSS editor upgrade that I have? If so, I would love help finding the right code to plug into the CSS editor!

You cannot make a theme function in a manner it is not deigned to function in. See the detailed theme description page https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/tonal/ and note that the menu is displayed only when a link is clicked. Then choose another theme that provides a top horizontal menu bar.

As timethief mentioned, the only menu in Tonal is the one that requires a click on the sidebar toggle to display.
