too long texts in the posts
-
Hiiii
I´m new here and just learning.
I have a too long post now in front, it has also a picture. Is it possible to put a part of the text, and clicking the picture go to another page where the text will appear complete???? Thank you!!!( I don´t even know where to look for an answer if you answer me….)http://www.premland.wordpress.com

Thank you for providing a link to your blog. And please consider linking your user name to your blog as explained in the sticky, 8 Things, at the top of the forum. (By the way, your blog address doesn’t have any www’s in it. The address is just http://premland.wordpress.com/ )
As for your post – there is no way (that I’m aware of) that would allow you to click on the picture to see the rest. However, the easiest way to split a post is to use the More tag. It is icon #12 (see here http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/05/15/what-do-all-the-icons-mean/ )

Vivian, of course there’s a way – the standard linking image way:
<a href="URL_OF_POST_HERE"><img src="URL_OF_IMAGE_HERE"></a>
In connention with that, one should use the customized more tag, e.g.
<!--more (click on pic for rest of post)--> -
Yeah – but that’s WAY too complicated. I mean – really – if you can’t find the more tag…. :)

oh, a conceptual “more”
only those in the know, know there’s more
a “private” post to most -
“Only those in the know, know there’s more”: yes, if you skip the “click on pic” note. (But it’s not private enough, I’m afraid: those in the dark can very easily become enlightened if they happen to click on the pic, either accidentally or thinking they’ll get a larger view of it, or if they click on the title of the post.)

a flaw in the concept: the secret will out!
still, those who don’t know must search to find enlightenment.I can’t think of anything really useful for the trick, but it’s interesting.
