too many blank lines surrounding comments

My theme is Twenty Twelve with CSS.
I’m unhappy with the appearance of the “Comments ” section: there’s too much white space. The blank links are all equal making differentiating one comment from another not obvious. How can I get rid of blank lines around the comment.
One person wrote that she could not find the sharing buttons – they were so small and embedded within this comments log. Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.
