Too many pictures, too long loading time.

Hey guys, as I’ve gotten deeper and deeper into my wordpress adventure some problems have arisen.
Right now im pretty happy with my page RockfordsWorld it’s very simple with focus on the important stuff, anywho.. as I upload more and more pictures, the loading starts to become a real drag. What i need to know is, if there by any chance is a way of me changing that.

First priority is to have everything on the same page, and the site loading from top to buttom as you scroll.

If that ain’t possible i’d like to add additional pages as seen on most blogs(older/newer entries buttons)

    Thanks!

    R.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Two ways:

    1) reduce the number of posts on your blog page. Do that under Settings->reading. Or it might be Reading. I’ve had three brandy slings, I’m a bit fuzzy.

    2) Use the Read More tag. Normally I don’t like it but it’s more and more prevalent and really easy to use. It’s the dotted line icon in the visual editor.

First, it looks like you are going a good job on optimizing your images so I don’t thing there is anything to gain there.

Go to settings > reading and set your site to show perhaps 2 posts per page. Right now at 5 minutes on my slower wireless internet service, your page still isn’t even half loaded.

Secondly, consider using a read more tag in your posts so that not all the images show on the main page.

That should be, “…doing a good job on optimizing…”

If nwspapers can use the read more tag, so can I.

Yes, it is Settings –> Reading

    Share the damn brandy, woman

    Thanks alot guys! This won’t be the last time you hear from me (;

    .

Done, now i just need the older/newer entries button at the buttom of the page(if possible, i would like to get it in a custom size, maybe even make my own buttons if possibe.)

    Whoa, that’s an amazing blog.

You have the Older entries button at the bottom of the page; your colours make it not obvious though.

Actually i just realised there is a older/newer entries button at the buttom of the page. However it’s very hard to spot, because of the small size and colour. Should i make a new thread if i want advice on how to make my own button/change the size and colour?

Changing the size/colour of that link would require the paid CSS upgrade and a knowledge of how to edit CSS. I wouldn’t bother, myself.

Thanks, with some help on all the technical stuff it will only improve.
