Too many postings appearing at the top of the website, how can I clear?

    Too many postings appearing at the top of the website.

    I need help with the appearance.

    I think I may have inadvertently posted new pages instead of postings which has resulted in a bit of a mess.

    is it possible to start again, but include all previous postings, or will I have to scrap what’s been written?

    I’m enjoying WordPress and am beginning to get good feedback, but this problem is bugging me. I’ve been trying all ways to clear it, and spent many hours – result pure frustration!

    Hi there,

    Yes, what you’ve done is indeed create pages where you probably meant to create posts.

    The best thing I can recommend you do is to log in to your account’s Dashboard and then navigate to your Pages section (on the left hand side of the screen). You’ll see a list of all of your pages which you’ve created. Click on one of them.

    The default screen you see is called the “Visual Editor.” That’s the screen you normally compose in, but there’s another editor called the “Text Editor” and you can just click the Text tab at the top of the edit box.

    The code for your post will be displayed. You can copy that code and then go compose a totally new post. If you paste that code into the Text Editor of the post window (not the Visual editor), then it will transfer over perfectly! You can then even set the date to be the same on the right hand side of the screen (where it says “Post Immediately,” expand that and change it to the date where you originally posted that page).

    Once you’ve created the post version of each page, you can go through and delete each page in turn until you only have the pages that you want to be pages!
