too many posts on blog site now

  If you have been blogging for a few months and the number of posts becomes too long, how do you remove the old ones, yet still keep them somewhere else on the blog site, so you have only one month displayed?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there,

  There are a couple of different options you could pursue. The easiest one is to just limit the number of posts which loads per page. That way people can still read more on your main page if they want to, but their browsers are not taxed by a huge page loading.

  You can make this change by logging in to your Dashboard and then going to Settings >> Reading. You’ll want to set the number of posts on your page and then also uncheck Infinite Scrolling and click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.

  Alternatively, there’s a bit more complicated of a change. You set up a category which is something like “recent posts” or even do a different category for each month like “July2014”. You could then use the Category Pages feature in your Custom Menus to link to that category, and for the first page which loads when someone visits your site, perhaps set up a welcome page/splash page using a Static Page.
