Too many recent posts

A day or two ago, I only had a limited number of recent posts listed…today I have a TON. Is there a bug or something? Doesn’t seem to matter which theme I use. Is it just me?

WOAH! Two observations. One probably unrelated.
(1)Usually only ten “recent posts” are displayed by the widget so I recommend sending in a feedback if this happens again but now I see it’s been fixed.
(2) You have lots of huge photographs and all seem to be on your front page. This makes your page take a very long time to load. Below I’ve included the search string from the FAQs blog as I think you should consider optimising your pictures, reducing their size, getting a free 3rd party account at flickr or photobucket, and using thumbnails only that are linked to the originals in 3rd party storage at flickr, photobucket, etc. http://faq.wordpress.com/?s=images -
If you’re talking about the recent posts list within your sidebar, it’s set to 10. I was thinking that you could set it to a number but a quick check on my test blog shows that we can’t.
Hmm, well that sucks. :(

My ‘Recent Posts’ widget is bust. It’s listing EVERY blog post I’ve ever written. How can I fix this?
