Too many redirects

  Hi there, not sure what the problem is (I have read about it and have no idea why a plugin would affect the template) but when I change the primary domain from http://prontotranslation.wordpress.com/ to http://prontotranslation.com it goes into a redirect error, no site. Suburbia template, no css upgrade, no idea about how to manage plugins if that’s the problem. Anyone have a clue what I’m doing wrong (bearing in mind I am completely new to this). Thanks.

  Oh by the way, my domain host changed the DNS already…

  Regrettably, I’m experiencing technical difficulty with “too many redirects” also. I added a domain I want to make my primary yesterday afternoon. Since then, my site on my iPad is giving me the message: “Safari cannot open the page because too many redirects occurred.”

  Has anyone got a solution for this? I haven’t figured it out.

  Oddly enough, this problem only occurs on my iPad. I’m not experiencing it on my iPhone.

  Hi. Well it was resolved for me in the end. I think it’s just a question of time, maybe 24 to 72 hours, something like that before it went directly to my site domain.

  From what I’ve read, unless you have multiple domains, that seems to be it..the waiting game..

  Domain name propagation is not instaneous. It takes time for domain name propagation to take place throughout the internet. It can take up to 72 hours but rarely takes that long. We have no control over when an ISP chooses to flush the DNS caches. I think what’s required here is patience.

  To activate your new domain go to Settings > Domains, select the button next to the one you wish to activate and click Update Primary Domain. Your blog will be accessible from both of these domains; the Primary Domain is what actually appears as your domain within the address bar of web browsers.
