Top alignment of image and text
-
I spent several hours today trying to get an image and a block of text to top align. I was pleased to have succeeded in getting text to wrap an image, and they looked good in the editor. But once published, the text and image no longer align across the top. The image is about half a line too high. (See https://piedtype.com/2020/12/14/return-of-the-grammar-grinch/ ) Then I noticed the same problem in the post several days earlier (https://piedtype.com/2020/12/10/i-appreciate-you-pass-it-on/ ). Or maybe the text block is too low. Seems to me the text, image, and sidebar should all align across the top. If all this is “working as intended,” then I ask that WP devs either consider a change or explain to me how to correct it
Thanks in advance.

Hi there,
I was able to replicate that on my end and I have reported it to that theme’s developer. Once I hear back from them I’ll let you know.
Please note that the theme you have selected is not fully compatible with the new Block editor and that’s why you’re encountering those issues. I suggest switching to a newer theme that’s designed to take full advantage of the Block editor’s features. You can find all those new themes here:

Given that it’s a premium theme and I’ve spent the better part of the year modifying it, changing themes is not really an option. It’s discouraging to know I’ve been trying to master a new editor I don’t like, only to learn that the theme is not fully compatible in the first place and that could have been the cause of some of the difficulties. But thanks for your response.
