  Good afternoon, I would like to buy a domain name for my site, but first I would like to ask you some questions:

  1 – Will the banner at the top of my home page be removed after that i purchase a domain name?

  2 – Is it enough for me to just purchase a domain name to put my site online? Do i have to follow some other steps?

  Yes,WordPress.com banner will be removed if you purchase a WordPress Pro plan.

  2 – Is it enough for me to just purchase a domain name to put my site online? Do I have to follow some other steps?

  A domain name only indicates your site address. To host content, a domain name must be paired with hosting, which WordPress offers with its paid plans.
  Without a paid plan for WordPress.com, you cannot purchase just a domain.

  No, the WordPress Pro plan is billed on a yearly base.

  You’ll need a Pro plan to set a custom domain as your site’s primary address: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/#set-a-primary-address

  Otherwise, example.com will just redirect to example.wordpress.com

  Since the Pro plan includes 1 free year of domain registration, I recommend starting there: https://wordpress.com/pricing/
