Top Error explanation

Google search console identified that my site is affected by 1 coverage issue.
They call it a Top Error, and it is noted to be ‘Submitted URL marked ‘noindex’

I recently had a independent contractor log in to optimize key words, and the error popped up after this.

A friend told me I would fix it on WP Admin but I have not figured out how to do it. Does anybody know how to fix this? Or can fix it for? This is a woocommerce shop so it needs to be indexed.

I had a little difficulty with live chat today, maybe because of my time zone. Can I get instruction on this through forums please?

  • We’re not expert in Google Search Console, so we can’t support it directly (Google does have a support option for GSC questions) but I did take a bit of time to look this up online.

What I found was that if you submitted a page for Google to index and received the Submitted URL Marked ‘noindex’ error message, it means that Google has identified that your page should not be indexed and displayed in search results.

It can definitely be the case that some URLs are private and would not be indexed by Google (your admin dashboard pages are a good example of this) so I’m curious, what is the URL you submitted to GSC?

    Thanks for the additional info!

  • ‘Submitted URL marked ‘noindex’

What, specifically, is the URL that Google is noting as marked noindex?

    https://www.mitten-maid.com (google property)
Google Search console states their are 3 pages that are ‘NOINDEX’ and 13 that are indexed. I AM awaiting a report that says why. Sort of dont know what would be non indexable about my pages.

  • Ok, there isn’t much we can do to help here without know which 3 pages Google is reporting as noindex.
