top of blog list of articles-featured image doesn't appear

    Hello.

    I have set featured images for two blog posts. They appear in the editor, but I want them to appear on the top blog page where I have the settings for excerpt for the article.

    Each of the two tests posts has an assigned featured image.

    Settings:
    Front Page displays Your Latest Posts

    Featured Images Display on blog and archives ON

    (Display on single posts disabled since it was displaying in the big photo header image at the top)N
    Display on PAGES ON

    I have no idea why this does not show. On a self hosted web site I own, this is set through some other part of the menu (how I did it I forget).

    Also, I am not trying to use a carousel. Simply showing the most recent posts and hoped the featured image would show. Am not using the first image of a post, but a specifically uploaded image.

    Probably missing something basic.

    Hi @nangokujiyujin,

    Uploading and setting the desired image as Featured Image to your blog post should help you with your query. The set featured image will be displayed on your blog listing page (https://nangokujiyujin.wordpress.com/).

    Hi nangokujiyujin,

    I’m seeing a featured image above each post on your blog at https://nangokujiyujin.wordpress.com.

    The first post “川内原発 １号機のヨウ素濃度が上昇” shows a featured image of a man speaking into a microphone above the post title. The second post “貧困について” shows a featured image of a man sleeping on a bench above the post title.

    If you’re not seeing those featured images on https://nangokujiyujin.wordpress.com, could you please try clearing your browser cache and refreshing the page?

    Thanks to the two of you. I think my problem was I hd an theme that did not show the images by default. This is a very basic thing that I did not find mentioned. Since I normally use a WordPress.org genesis theme, I set that up following the instructions from the people who made it. But its seems that there are many themes that do not necessarily show the featured image. In fact, my wife prefers no featured image on the top page, she now tells me. So I chose another theme.
