Top Rated widget not showing any links.
-
Incredible. It’s almost 2 months since this guy started this thread and apparently, not only he got no solution but lots of other people appeared with the same issue.
Well… My turn. It doesn’t show any link even though it’s on for posts and several posts have been rated. Still the widget shows the title and no links below it.
You can check http://randomdiscography.wordpress.com/ if you want…
Any solutions?

We had another report in a different thread; it can take a couple of days for the links to show up, because the stats are based on the highest-rated in the previous 48 hours. How long ago did you add the widget?
-
I changed the theme and they started to work, now I came back to the old theme and they still work… Makes no sense, but it’s great anyway. I don’t want to understand why it wasn’t working… Having them work now is enough. :)
-
Highest rated in the last 48 hours? Only 48 hours? Nevermind, that sounds like a pretty useless widget after all.
-
I have the same problem. I have ratings on 5-7 posts, but they do not display-I think top rated posts should be available for either 7 or 31 days-just like the reports we can generate.
-
I should have figured, after my post on https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/top-posts-are-calculated-from-24-48-hours-of-stats-why?replies=7
Apparently wordpress.com is for high-traffic-blogs only, casual bloggers can feel free to not expect anything and keep it shut.Well, thanks for not giving out this detail in this thread for almost two months straight, even though you knew it right from the beginning. I wonder if any of the supporters in this forum actually use brains, or read what people have written… :-(

Below is the video link and I can plainly see that it states “Top Clicks are calculated from 48 – 72 hours of stats. They take awhile to change.”
http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/top-clicks-widget/
I also see the same statement in the support documentation entry here http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/top-clicks-widget/ -
timethief: right, but this thread is not about top clicks widget at all, but about top rated. see the difference?
-
In addition to the widget, you need to enable ratings. Go to your dashboard. Look down on the left side. Under posts, media, links, etc., you get to Ratings. Click that, and then enable the ratings and your widget will start working.

I have do all of this “In addition to the widget, you need to enable ratings. Go to your dashboard. Look down on the left side. Under posts, media, links, etc., you get to Ratings. Click that, and then enable the ratings and your widget will start working.” but the rating still don´t work.
I can se the staars in preview but not when the post is published.
-
if I understand the way of thinking of wordpress.com programmers, they probably show only ratings of the last 24 hours or something like that. it seems they are only aiming the services at blogs with heavy traffic. :-(
-
yes i understand that. But why don´t the star appear on the main side? We the reader don´t se any stars, how can they know that they can rate the post? Hope you understand what i mean, and sorry for my very bad english

@wingsblogs
Your point is a good one as widgets can only display data after you set this up correctly. On the Admin side (dashboard) of your blog look at the column of the far right hand side. Immediately under “Comments” you will see “Ratings” – click that link.
A new page will open and you will see:
___ Enable for blog posts
checkmark itDrop down menu – choose either below post or above posts by checking the one you want
Click “Save Changes”
Now click the “Advanced Settings” link and a new page will open. Make your selections and then click “Save Changes”

hello timethief.
I’ve done all the things that you describe, but it still does not work, what am I doing wrong? I can se the stars in “preview” but not when the post is published. -
