Topic Continuation: Unable to assign private domain to WordPress
-
Hi,
I’ve created a new post in reference to old one since I cannot reply there anymore:
https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/unable-to-assign-private-domain-to-wordpress/#post-4090089
I just wanted to ask if there’s any progress? I’ve got an email from the support team, but one week has passed and there have been no updates. Just double checked, and the issue still persists. The 24/7 chat just gets stuck for me in a chat with AI, and no live support is provided. I’m starting to think about requesting a refund and migrating to another hosting instead of WordPress.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

As far I can see as a volunteer there are 2 problems:
- Two of the three nameservers are missing as you are only using ns1.wordpress.com – https://wordpress.com/support/domains/change-name-servers/#domains-registered-with-other-companies
- When I go to your site I see the error “It looks like it doesn’t have an active domain connection upgrade to link the requested domain name to the WordPress.com site.”

Hi @staartmees,
Thanks for the reply.

DNS servers were configured some time ago for that particular domain and weren’t changed. Please, check the original post one more time. tl;dr; It says that this domain was assigned to a different webpage, which is no longer in use, and the subscription there has expired. A new webpage, to which I’m trying to connect the domain, does have a business plan, so that’s not the case.
If I were to guess, the old webpage probably keeps trying to “hold” the domain, but since there’s no active plan, WordPress hosting rejects it. And since old webpage still holds the domain, I can’t connect to a new page for whatever reason.
Thanks!

According to https://wordpress.com/site-profiler/szafiria.pl there is only 1 nameserver configured.
We can’t do more than just wait for Staff assistance.

Resolved with live support. They connected it manually.
Also for anyone else – if you can’t connect on Edge browser with live human support – turn off tracking in browser settings.
