Total newbie encountering problem with DNS configuration
-
I took over a wordpress blog and everything was running fine. We are on the free plan but pay WordPress for a domain, and everything has been paid up on time. However, without any changes being made, suddenly the website went down and I’m getting the error that the site’s “name server records need to be configured”.
Our domain was purchased from WordPress, so it’s not an issue with a domain host. Plus, a whois.net search of the site reveals:
Name Server: ns1.wordpress.com Name Server: ns2.wordpress.com Name Server: ns3.wordpress.com
Anyone know what’s going on!?!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
You’re not paying us for a domain. The domain, ppgreview.ca, is not registered with us, but just connected to your site with us via the domain mapping upgrade, and that upgrade is still working fine. It will only expire on 1 Sepember 2021.
But as @staartmees pointed out above, your domain registration itself has expired. The domain mapping upgrade connecting the domain to WordPress.com means nothing if the domain itself no longer exists, which is essentially what’s happened here.
Contact http://www.domain.ca/, where you have that domain registered, for help renewing the domain. Once the domain registration with them is renewed, the domain mapping on our end will start working again.
