totally confused
-
Hello:
I am confused but in a happy sort of way…
I originally signed up for my blog, then transferred my domain ‘workingbuddha.com ‘ to WordPress. But when I go onto my dashboard I can only see the original blog, ‘workingbuddha.wordpress.com’. I cannot locate workingbuddha.com except through an email link after I had purchased the upgrade to use my domain on WordPress. Ugh, can anyone help??
Stephen
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It works just fine:
Have you set that domain as Primary? that’s on the Domains page.
-
Your dashboard URLs will always reflect the original wordpress.COM URL structure, but all of your blog public pages will reflect your new custom domain URL (except for images which will also have the wordpress.COM URLs.
-
all I can see on the domain page is the workingbuddha.wordpress.com domain.
Maybe I should not try working on this after my day job, lol
I am really confused here..

workingbuddha.wordpress.com is set as the primary and only domain on my domain page, I cannot locate anything to do with workingbuddha.com…

This one I can get to going backwards from the link below.
http://workingbuddha.com/When I log to my account this is the one that comes up…
https://workingbuddha.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=domainshave I some how created a monster…

While in your dashboard, the URLs for all the dashboard related pages are going to start with this: https://workingbuddha.wordpress.com/ . It will not reflect the mapped domain name when you are in the dashboard. The mapped domain name will only show on the public pages.
-
OK, but I can only access the the workingbuddha.com blog by working backwards, when I log in I can only edit/add text to the wordpress blog…

just tried again, logged in, went to view blog and this is what I get..
http://workingbuddha.wordpress.com/

I don’t think you understand this correctly. The wordpress.com blog is the root blog. That’s the one you access and work on. You have not moved the content off the wordpress.com servers your blog is still the same blog and it’s still hosted by wordpress.com
It will not reflect the mapped domain name when you are in the dashboard. The mapped domain name will only show on the public pages.
-
If I click on this link, http://workingbuddha.com/ , I’m taken directly to your blog and the address bar shows the above link in the address bar of the browser.
http://workingbuddha.com/ IS your wordpress blog. Buying a domain name and the domain mapping puts your custom domain name on the blog you have here. It does not give you a separate blog.

For some reason http://workingbuddha.wordpress.com/ is not redirecting to workingbuddha.com – the workingbuda.wordpress.com is blank but the http://workingbuddha.com/ has a Post in it –
Ignoring for a moment their Dashboard problem I find this very confusing – not at all what I have seen before –
Might be a time to ask the staff to look at things before 1950 is terminally confused: http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/

I agree with auxclass. It’s time to contact Staff > http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/

I have just posted to the support staff…I am sure it is something I did, it has been one of those weeks….
thanks for all the posts…

Internet happens – there could be a bit in the back end that got flipped some how – I doubt it is something you did –
Good luck – I am sure the Staff will figure it out

In your domain mapping, you have to have http://workingbuddha.com/ set as your primary blog. Check and make sure it is set as the primary blog.
-
As I said , I can only get to http://workingbuddha.com/ by going backwards, and yes it is set as the primary. When I log on to my account I get two other blogs:
When I log to my account this is the one that comes up…
https://workingbuddha.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=domainstime to retire…
its been fun..:-)
